It beat forest's record of 42 which similarly came to an end 2-0 away to the then dominant club, liverpool.

That forest'team was something special in the context of resources and history.

  2. That is where leverkusan come in

  3. I watched the beat Aston Villa in that invincibles season, long live the Invincibles

  4. Who doesn't know about this

  5. @jmmypaddy dijo:

Always Premier League as the timeframe chosen, so boring

  6. Yanited!!
    Yanited!!
    Yanited!!

  7. Was it not over the course of 3 seasons?

  8. It’s spanned 3 seasons technically

The second longest is Liverpool with 44 games between January 2019 and February 2020. Over the course of those 44 matches, Liverpool won 39 and drew 5 for a total of 122 points out of a possible 132. That included a run of 36 games where Liverpool won 17 consecutive matches (3rd longest streak in premier League history), drew 1-1 away at Old Trafford, then won the next 18 consecutive matches (joint longest streak in pl history), for a total of 106 points out of a possible 108, before ultimately losing 3-0 at Vicarage road. Over the course of the 18/19 season, Liverpool recorded 97 points for a second place finish (4th highest points tally in premier League history, and the highest without winning it), lost a single match 2-1 at the Etihad, and won the Champions League. Over the course of the 19/20 season, Liverpool won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, had 7 players nominated for the Ballon d'Or, recorded 99 points (second highest in pl history), 32 wins (joint highest in premier League history), a third consecutive season unbeaten at home in the pl, were 25 points clear of city in February (highest gap between first and second at any point in pl history), finished 17 points ahead of city (2nd highest final gap between 1st and 2nd in pl history), won the league with 7 games to spare (earliest in pl history by games played, and latest by date), and were the only team to get a guard of honour from Pep's city. Whilst the Invincibles is impressive in its own right, Liverpool's run was more dominant and only very slightly shorter. The only things that stopped Liverpool's 44 games from being 60+ are John Stones' foot and less than 1 cm

And still didn't win the league tho

  11. No mention of Pizzagate? 😂

  12. @SpardaDante dijo:

    Led by Dennis Bergkamp

  13. @gcgcgcg dijo:

And last season Arsenal won 27, one more than the Invincibles team

  14. What about the opposite end of the spectrum- the premier league’s longest winless run.

Everyone know how man utd bought referees those days!

    Leverkusen enteres the room

  17. I think you’ll find it was 26 wins and 12 draws, not 13.

That would make 39 games in a season. Let’s not even open that can of worms

  18. Winning 26 games and drawing 13 doesnt make 49 😂

  19. Leverlusen have way longer unbeaten streak then Arsenal .

  20. Fun thing is that Arsenal had another one unbeaten record, just not so long as this one and it was also stopped by Rooney, who scored them for Everton.

  21. And Cesc Fabregas threw a slice of pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson during post-match brawl that occurred in the tunnel!!

  22. 49 games without losing are pretty incredible. Must have been annoying not getting to 50 though

  23. @Sketchesz dijo:

The invincibles…. you couldn't beat them since you couldn't see them 🫡

  24. God dam but young Wayne Rooney was a beast

  25. 20 years later: A club led by a premier league legend helped a club that was unlucky winning their own league to not only winning it but being unbeaten

  26. @MM-ep2zq dijo:

    footnote

Assisted greatly by a dubious penalty decision against Portsmouth.

Arsenal were losing one nil at Highbury in September 2003 to a Teddy Sheringham goal and Robert Pires dived late on against Dejan Stevanovic to secure a one all draw.

Quite fitting really the 49 game unbeaten run was eventually ended with the help of a dodgy penalty because it couldn't have existed without one.

  27. Wouldn’t that be over 3 seasons?

  28. United used to be the lover boys of the Premier League now it’s City

  29. Tell that to my Football Manager 2013 run where I didn't lose for over 300 games

  30. @andreio136 dijo:

    Viera is so underrated
