First of all you guys play it so safe! You all virtually expect a repeat, with the big risk being Manu for 4th? Please! It's incredibly hard to repeat in the Prem. And for me the thing that makes the Prem the most entertaining league on earth is the competition. The quality and parity from mid table up is wonderful.
But I have a one word reason why City will not finish 1st: chemistry. They've messed with their chemistry a lot with players leaving and arriving. Haaland s going to suck up a lot of oxygen in the room. Sure! He'll score a goal a game, but 1 goal/90 isn't enough, and if City focus on him too much it will hurt them. Its a transitional year for them. They'll battle it out with Liverpool for 2nd or 3rd. And I have 2 words for the team that will take the league:
Thomas Tuchel. Ok… 2 more: 5 subs
Last season Chelsea were under so many insane circumstances that held them down it's ridiculous. I don't really need to spell them out, do I? And they still managed to improve on the previous season and come in a comfortable 3rd… while playing more games than any other team in the world, tied with Liverpool. And they went out of the champions league on a win ?
Yes, Chelsea lost 2 defenders who were not particularly good until TT got hold of them. And we're bringing in better, with Koulibaly and probably Kimpembe. Sterling is going to contribute big time, fitting into TT's system without messing with the chemistry all that much. So… two words: Thomas Tuchel
